If you love history and want to see ancient artifacts, beautiful sculptures, and rare paintings, then Patna Museum is the perfect place to visit. Also known as “Jadu Ghar”, this museum was built in 1917 during British rule to preserve historical treasures found in Patna. Today, it has over 50,000 rare objects, taking visitors on a journey through India’s ancient, medieval, and colonial past.

The museum is built in a Mughal and Rajput architectural style, giving it a royal look. Inside, you will find many fascinating exhibits. The most famous attractions are the Holy Relic Casket, which holds the sacred ashes of Lord Buddha, and the Yakshani statue, a beautifully carved ancient sculpture. There are also coins, paintings, textiles, weapons, bronze sculptures, and terracotta images made by Hindu and Buddhist artists.

Another special section of the museum displays British-era paintings, showing how people lived in India during that time. There is also a collection related to Dr. Rajendra Prasad, India’s first President, and even a First World War cannon.

If you enjoy art, history, and culture, Patna Museum is a great place to explore and learn about India’s rich heritage.
